Our learning program is directly based on the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Developmental Framework. This is the Government Approved curriculum for all early learning Services. Children’s progress is made visible by the curriculum plan, children’s portfolios, Reflections journals, newsletters and project displays. The exact same methods used throughout all Services. FDC Educators are professional persons offering high quality approved education and care.
The Australian government provides families with subsidies to help cover the cost of approved childcare – the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and the Child Care Rebate (CCR). Family Day Care is, on average, less expensive than other forms of care and is charged on an hourly instead of a daily rate.
Children are rarely born into families at the same time(except for multiple births). This process ensures a mixed age/development within the family structure. This is the natural way children develop within the early preschool years. Studies show that children who experience multiple peers of the same developmental level at one time express more behavioural issues, more stress and compete more for adult attention. Many of these children seem to "slip through the cracks". The truth is that Care and Education based on large group experiences are more about "cost saving" than the individual needs of a child.
Did you know that due to a one on one approach, FDC Educated children show a higher level of school readiness than both Centre based care and those attending Kindergarten?
False. within a Long Day Care environment up to 50 sets of parents/Adults can move in and out of the Service daily. This is a lot of people. There is far less capacity to monitor this traffic than in a the FDC environment. Long Day care's unnatural atmosphere has more potential for , illness, accidents, bullying and emotional neglect to some children than a much small Family Day Care Setting.
